Remove PDF pages

Take out the pages you do not need, or keep only the ones you do, and get a new file. Nothing is uploaded — it runs in your browser, so use it for documents like contracts that you would rather not hand over.

The file never leaves your device. It is read and edited inside your browser and handed straight back. The original is untouched; you get a new file.

Delete the pages you do not need from a PDF, or keep only the ones you do, and download the result. Files are handled inside the browser rather than uploaded.

The file never leaves this machine

Contracts, bank statements and scanned ID are exactly the things you should not upload. Nothing is sent anywhere here — the browser opens and edits the file, so it works with the network switched off.

The original is untouched

Deleting pages produces a new download; the file you started with is unchanged. Delete the wrong page and you simply open the original again.

Pages are chosen by number

There are no thumbnails; you type page numbers. Write them like 1-3, 5, 9- — commas between entries, a hyphen for a range, and an open end runs to the last page. The page count is shown as soon as the file is chosen. A reversed range such as 5-3 is read as 3 to 5, and numbers the document does not have are quietly ignored.

Delete and keep are two ends of one job

Remove page 3 and keep only page 3 are opposite statements about the same document, which is why they share a screen. Need two pages out of a hundred? Keeping two is shorter to type. Dropping a few blank pages from a scan? Deleting is shorter.

Numbers are the viewer's numbers

The page number printed inside a document often differs from the one the viewer counts. With a cover and contents in front, body page 1 may be page 5 in the viewer. The numbers used here count the first sheet as 1, the way a viewer does, so check the sheet position before deleting.

Deleting everything is blocked

If no page would remain, the download does not start. The result is saved under the original name with a suffix saying what was done, so it cannot be confused with the original.

A tilde is not understood

Ranges take a hyphen only. Write 1~3 with a tilde, or attach a word such as p.3, and that piece is silently dropped — nothing is selected and the download does not open. The same goes for 1 3 5 with spaces and no commas. The screen always says how many pages are selected and how many remain, so if the number surprises you, check the notation.

Only the pages move to the new file

The result is a fresh document into which the pages you keep are copied, not your original with edits. Text, images and annotations inside a page come across, but bookmarks and document information such as title and author belong to the document, not to any page, and do not follow. Only names ending in .pdf are accepted; a renamed file must get its extension back first.

Common questions

Can I reorder pages?

This tool deletes and extracts only. To reorder, extract the pages you want as separate files and join them in order with the PDF merge tool.

What about password-protected PDFs?

A file that asks for a password to open cannot be read. Make an unprotected copy first.

Does the file get bigger or smaller?

Usually smaller, since images only used by deleted pages go with them. Pages you keep are untouched.

Can I edit the text?

Pages only. To change the words, edit the original document and export a fresh PDF.

Can I do several files at once?

One file at a time. To pull pages from several files into one, extract from each and join the results with the PDF merge tool.

Can I straighten a page that is upside down?

No rotation. This tool only adds and removes pages, so an upside-down page is best rescanned.

Can I duplicate a page?

No. Each page is kept once, and a number written twice counts once. To include a page twice, extract just that page with keep and add the file twice in the PDF merge tool.

Will it handle a scan several hundred pages long?

There is no size limit, but the whole file is held in memory, so a scan of several hundred megabytes may be slow or stall on some devices. Split such a file in two first by keeping each half, then work on the halves.
