What to include so it can be fixed quickly

Which screen — pasting the address is the most precise. The tool's name is enough to find it.

What you entered and what came out — for a calculator, the inputs and the result; for a form, which field went wrong and how. Reproducing it with the same values is the first step of any fix.

If you expected a different value, why — a statute, a formula, another calculator's result: anything to compare against. Every calculation on this site shows its basis on screen, so which side is right can usually be settled on the spot.

What we take

Things that need fixing come first: a wrong number, a form that no longer matches the current version, a screen that will not open, a printout that gets cut off. If a rate or a reference date has changed and the screen has not, tell us; we check the source and the date and correct it.

Suggestions for new tools are welcome too. Bear in mind that everything here runs inside the browser with no server, so anything that needs a login or saved data is out of scope.

Requests to reuse a tool elsewhere are also fine. The open-source notices page answers most of that already.

What you do not need to send

No identity details — no name, phone number or company. A reply address is all that is needed. Nothing you type into a tool is sent to a server, so we have no record of it on our side; that is why we ask what you entered.

Do not attach real documents such as a payslip or a contract. A few numbers that show the problem are enough, and safer for both of us.

When to expect a reply

The site is run by one person, so a reply can take a few days. Things that affect other people too, such as a wrong number, are looked at first. Once fixed, the "last checked" date on that screen changes, so you can see the fix even before a reply arrives.
